Q & A
Q. What is the Hurricane Pizza Meet?
A: Hurricanes Swim Team is a year round swim team and they host a pizza meet for any swimmer interested in joining the Hurricanes.  This is a chance to meet other year round swimmers and ask questions to see if it is something you would be interested in.  Also, it's FREE and the kids get pizza and a drink at the end!  This is a fun event!
Q: What is the Fruit practice?
A: This is just a FUN practice for the kids!  Not only do they practice with fruit but there is also fruit cut up ready for the swimmers to eat!
Q:  What is the Blue vs Green meet?
A:  This is a FUN meet with only Pinewood Porpoises!!  The kids have worked so hard all summer long and while they enjoy regular meets this is a chance for them to let their hair down and really have fun with our goofy events!  You won't want to miss this meet!!!  The team will be divided into 2 teams, BLUE vs GREEN.  They will compete against each other and whichever team wins will have bragging rights til next summer!
Q: What is the Chick-fil-A Night?
A: We have signed up with Chick-fil-A to do a fundraiser night at the Gause Blvd location in Slidell.  The event is from 5:00-9:00pm.  All you have to do is let them know you are with Pinewood Porpoises Swim Team and they will put your receipt into a bucket.  Pinewood Swim Team will get 10% of all sales that evening!!!  Just make sure you tell them you are with the swim team so we get credit for it!!  We can not advertise at the location so word of mouth is crucial!  Please tell your family and friends about this.  Besides, who doesn't like Chick-fil-A?
Q: What is the City Meet?
A: Like the B Meet & the A Meet, this is the granddaddy of Championship Meets!!!  This meet is where ALL swimmers from every team competes!  Because every team will be there it has been separated into 2 days.  10 & under will compete on Friday and 11 & up will compete on Saturday.
Q: What is the Team Awards Party?
A: This is our final event for the swim team this summer.  We present awards to all the swimmers for participation, 5 year, 10 year, high point winners, coaches awards, etc.  This is another great, team building day to mingle with swimmers and their families.
Q: What is a Swim Hop?
A: This is a swim team fundraiser.  This event is open to the public and is $5.00 per swimmer plus the snack shack is open for concessions.  We ask that children under age 9 be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the swim hop.  The night is filled with music, food, drinks and of course swimming!  Be sure to invite your friends!!!
I hope this has answered some of your questions.  Please let me know if there are any more.

A MEET REMINDER:
Please sign out if your child will not be at the A Meet this Saturday, June 29th!!!  We had a few "no shows" at the B Meet.  A couple of swimmers were entered who were "no swims" or simply did not show up.
We will have relays at the A Meet, so it's extremely important to see if your child has been entered into a relay before you leave!!  If you have to leave for some reason at the meet, please make sure you let a coach know so we can find a replacement (if possible) for that relay.
I can't stress enough how important it is for you to be there for all races entered!!!  Our team depends on each and every one of you!
A Meet tshirts will be available for pick-up at the meet.  If we are lucky, we may have them ready for pick-up on Friday morning during practice.
Volunteers:
Be sure to respond to Kevin's emails.  He is working diligently to fill these spots.  Thank you Kevin for all your hard work!  It has certainly paid off this summer.
