Saturday Stroke Clinic

Dear Porpoises,

We will offer 2 stroke clinics in the month of June.  This Saturday, June 2nd. and Saturday, June 23rd.

 

Due to attendance records, the times and groups will change slightly.  Sorry about any inconvenience.

 

8:30 - 9:30 will be for Groups 2 and 3.

9:30 - 10:30 will be for Group 1.

 

Remember to attend if you need extra help with a stroke, start or turn.

Bring completed forms and payment to the meet on Monday, June 4th or to the Team Pool Party on June 8th.  Deadline is June 8th.

Order forms and payments can also be given to any board member.

MINI-MEET REMINDER!!
Mini-Meet is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 29th!
Warm-ups will be at 3:30.

Volunteers are still needed!  Make sure you check in to see what's still needed to help this meet run as smoothly and quickly as possible.
Thank you to all who have signed up!

For those of you new to the team, please remember that the club does not allow ice chests to be brought into the fenced area. You may bring tents and coolers, but they must remain outside of the fenced area. It is also suggested that you bring your own chairs because we use most of the club chairs for the deck. The snack bar should be open, but I would plan to bring some provisions.

And, of course, don't forget your goggles and caps.

It is a Pinewood tradition that following all meets, we go as a group to CiCi's pizza.

May practice schedule changes

Due to the great response to our swim team this season, please take note of the following changes to the practice schedule.  This change will be effective tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8th. If there is a problem with your child's assigned group, please let me know.  I ask that swimmers not attend another practice group without prior permission.  Thanks, everyone!

Practice Group 1:  4:45 - 5:30
All 6 and under swimmers
All 7 year olds, except for Madeline Smail
All 8  year old BOYS Plus the following swimmers:  Sydney Vander, Zoey Marton, Gabriel Olave, and Shayna Scully    

Practice Group 2:  5:30 - 6:15
Madeline Smail Ella Abney Lexie Meredith Abby West  
All 9 yr old girls and boys
All 10 yr old girls and boys 11 yr old BOYS , except Patrick Kelly    

Practice Group 3:  6:15 - 7:15
Patrick Kelly

Stroke Judges Needed!

 

Dear Pinewood Parents:

Ever wonder what the people walking the pool deck are doing holding those clipboards during swim meets? Ever want to get an up close view of your swimmer in a meet? Well here is your chance, BECOME A STROKE JUDGE!

There will be free training classes for anyone interested in serving as a stroke judge. There will be one held at Pinewood on Wednesday May 16 at 6:15-7:45.

We are required to provide 2 stroke judges per meet and can you your help.

Coaches are required by our team to attend a stroke judge clinic. Returning stroke judges are also encouraged to attend.

If you can't attend the Wednesday clinic, there will be one at Slidell Athletic Club on May 14 at 6:30 and one at Cross Gates on May 31.

We are planning a Dive-In Movie Night to be included in one or more of the Swim Hop dates.  Planning to do 2 separate movie nights geared to specific age groups (12 & under - 13 & up).  Suggestions on movies?
